A stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of King’s Cross mainline station, is a hidden courtyard for those in the know. VOC has been a thriving cocktail bar on the London cocktail scene for many years and still boasts a relaxed speak-easy atmosphere enjoyed by guests.
VOC is named after the Dutch East India company and this theme translates through the venue décor and across the restaurant and bar menus. Travel and exploration are very much forefront here and you can embark from the comfort of your bar stool or restaurant table without so much as getting a toe wet. The cocktail menu offers something for everyone, transporting you through port stops along the spice routes. Duit in the Bag casts you off from the Netherlands, named as such after the copper coin embossed with the VOC monogram through to Boba Juice, a Taiwanese Bubble Tea sailing on to Ebony Pipe in Mauritius, a cocktail inspired by the ebony trade in the 1700’s.
Feeling hungry? VOC offers small plates encouraging communal dining, as was the nature of adventurers braving the spice routes. Dishes are inspired from the Land, the Sea and the Land. For something more hearty VOC Restaurant offers signature classics such as Flat Iron Steak and VOC Old Smoky Burger.
VOC is available for private hire – boasting a mezzanine restaurant sitting behind the bar. Guests enjoy a semi private area (40 seated, up to 80 standing) which manages to capture the bustling bar atmosphere below.
Cocktail masterclasses and tastings can be arranged for you by the team and we would be happy to discuss any of your requirements.
