Description
The Anchor and Hope is a no-frills gastro pub focused on delicious food in a laid back atmosphere. The pub is known for its no reservation policy, just turn up, but be prepared to queue! While you wait for a table the bar area is perfect for enjoying a few drinks and small bar nibbles, especially at peak times when the wait can be a bit longer. With big wooden, communal tables it is a simple design that makes sure all your focus is on the food. Red walls are filled with modern art pieces and create a simple space for a nice meal.
The menu offers delicious dishes with everything from ox tongue to more traditional pub classics. Everything is made fresh with seasonal ingredients. Between after work drinkers, pre-theatre diners and just about anyone in the area looking for a good meal, this pub tends to get very busy. If you've got patience and a good appetite then this is the place to be!
