The Windmill is a gem of a pub in Mayfair, where pies and ales are the passion. It’s a comfortable and familiar boozer which attracts an eclectic crowd, with a Pie Room available for private hire and a hidden rooftop terrace to lap up the sunshine when the weather is fine.
On to the main business, namely the pies, and there’s a pretty comprehensive list to mull over. Delve into everything from fish to shepherd’s, chicken to veggie, or opt for the steak serving if you’re playing it safe - it’s won three national awards, after all.
Away from those fresh and seasonal pies is a similarly impressive list of cask ales. There’s 6 on tap, with great Young’s coverage and a list of guest ales that changes on a daily basis. The Windmill features a good quality wine list to boot.
A roof terrace is situated upstairs which transforms to suit the season with hot water bottles and blankets in the Winter and G&Ts to cool down sun-soakers in the Summer.
