The Carlton Tavern

Description

With its Georgian architecture, The Carlton Tavern looks slighty out of place amongst its more modern-looking neighbours yet if anything, it helps to increase its charm. A historic pub, it is a favourite amongst locals and creates a great sense of loyalty amongst its customers, quickly turning many visitors into regulars. With friendly and welcoming staff, its owners aim to create a venue fit for all, reaching a broad spectrum of clientele from darts teams, to sport fans and private parties. It is also home to Westminster's largest sporting club, the Hampstead and Westminster Hockey Club, so be warned it can get incredibly busy. Right next to the Paddington Recreation Ground, it has a long association with sport, describing itself as 'London's Premier Sports Bar'.

Serving a host of drinks, they remain proud of their beer and aim to constantly maintain it at the highest quality, whilst also offering a variation of spirits and wines that are all reasonably priced. Child-friendly and hospitable, they serve traditional British pub food throughout the week until the late hours, and the weekly Sunday roast. Overall, it's a great place to have a few drinks, or a meal and you'll definitely enjoy it if you're a big sports fan.
