Freak Scene Sushi & Robata isn’t just a restaurant - it’s a flavour explosion with a side of high-energy fun. The brainchild of ex-Nobu chef Scott Hallsworth and presenter Adam Hills, this Balham hotspot (sibling to its Parsons Green counterpart) seats up to 80 guests who can devour sushi from ex-Kurobata sushi chef Yauheni Kharytonau and wash it down with an array of sakes curated by Oliver Hilton-Johnson (Tengu Sake).
Expect delicious pan-Asian fusion food, where sushi and sizzling robata bites come with delightful seasoning and a playful presentation. From fresh, fiery small plates to meaty mains that pack a punch, every dish here is built to thrill. Tuck into the likes of wood-fired miso poussin with a spicy lemon and garlic sauce, duck red curry doughnut buns, truffled Koffman's chips with a truffle ponzu dip and more.
And the drinks? Think bold, boozy twists on classic cocktails, plus a short wine list that's spot on. Guests are also invited to grab a bargain midweek as part of its Tight Ass Tuesdays.
