Battersea Power Station

Description

Battersea Power Sation is an iconic Grade II-listed building that's been transformed into a buzzing shopping and leisure destination, boasting over 140 shops, bars, restaurants and entertainment spaces. Its construction began in 1929 and its fourth chimney reached completion in 1955 - at its peak, it was supplying a fifth of the capital's electricity. Throughout its years, it's graced the cover of a Pink Floyd album, was purchased by a theme park scheme (that never came to fruition) and today is home to some of the capital's most exciting activities.

Here, you can ascend 109 metres up from the Art Deco Turbine Hall to the top of the North West Chimney where you can marvel at 360-degree views of the city for £15.30 per person. If an overnight stay is calling your name, book one of the gorgeous rooms designed by award-winning Spanish artist and interior designer Jamie Hayon at art'otel. On its 16th floor, discover JOIA, an elegant rooftop dining space serving small plates by Michelin-starred Portuguese chef Henrique Sá Pessoa.

Other fun-filled activities include wolfing down international cuisine at the Arcade Food Hall & Bar, sipping on Champagne at Searcy's, solving cryptic clues with Control Room B's escape room and getting lost in an alternate reality at DNA VR.
