Offering style, substance and delicious dishes, new Brixton restaurant Bellefields is here to be the Mediterranean light at the end of the tunnel.
Taking up a plot in Ferndale Road's Department Store, the bar and eatery will be serving up a stunning selection of plates inspired by the region, with cuisines drawn from the Aegean Sea, Balearic Islands and the Levantine Basin. The kitchen will be headed up by chef James Mathieson, and is set to craft delicacies including lamb tagine, Turkish manti and a super-fresh linguine vongole.
The venture is the brainchild of architectural firm and Department Store owners Squire & Sons and will see the family-run design studio remodelling the ground floor space to house the eatery. The interiors will offer a calm haven from bustling Brixton, with neutral tones and sleek, simple furnishings. As for the exteriors? Diners and daytime workers will be treated to a pretty courtyard, which is set to be the go-to suntrap for summer 2021.
