Description
It isn't all grim up North!
And although they do harp on about Wensleydale and Wallace & Gromit, the wet, fertile landscape lends itself to making some of Britain's best cheeses.
Join us at The Cheese Bar, Camden & taste some of the North of Britain's best farmhouse cheeses from one of Britain's best cheese-mongers: Yorkshire's The Courtyard Dairy (winner of Best Cheese Shop and Cheesemonger of the Year).
The evening will include a talk and tasting by Andy Swinscoe of The Courtyard Dairy, where he'll show the following 6 cheeses:
Hebden Goat
Fellstone (two ages)
St James
Moorland Tomme (V)
Dale End Cheddar (V)
Leeds Blue
Former winner of World Cheese Awards Cheesemonger of The Year, and with The Courtyard Dairy noted to be 'One of the Top 10 Cheese Shops in the World' [Daily Telegraph], owner Andy developed his expertise in traditional farm made and unpasteurised cheeses whilst working in France for renowned cheese-maturer Herve Mons, before a stint for some of the best cheesemongers in the South of England.
Returning home to the North in 2012, he set up The Courtyard Dairy, a multi-award winning cheese-shop and cheese-museum, with the ambition is to promote and champion traditionally made, raw-milk cheese.
Arrive 7pm for a 7.30 start - the tasting itself will last 1.5 hours.
