If you like your food with a side of Instagram-worthiness, then you've probably been to Bun House. From lip-smacking glass noodles to the iconic oozing custard bun, the Soho spot is a firm foodie favourite and now, founders Z He and Alex Peffly have a second spot just a few roads over in Chinatown.
Bringing their much-loved Cantonese steamed buns to the space which previously housed Poons and Leong's Legend II, Bun House and Tearoom features new additions from tasty beef brisket buns to sweet brioche-style pineapple buns. Wash it all down with a tea-based cocktail or beer from Moonzen brewery.
In keeping with the vibrant aesthetic of the original outpost, the venue features dark wood panelling and sliding glass windows, with a bright interior designed by He's Five Line Projects. You'll find space for 16 diners, plus room for 40 above. If you're in a hurry then there's a small hatch serving traditional street food like in the style of Hong Kong’s dai pai dong stalls... think curried fish balls and Cheung Fun.
