What they say:
Minnow is a new all-day eatery serving up seasonal British food to Clapham Common. This new hotspot will feature some interesting little touches, from a walled garden to a fresh juice stall in the alfresco dining area where people passing by can pay in the ‘honesty box’. There’s also a vaulted booth lit by a stained-glass lightbox inside the restaurant’s wine cellar, if you want to sit somewhere a little different. But it’s not just the interiors that are a little out-there: they serve up wine in “pay as you drink” bottles, for those that don’t want to admit they’re going to drink a whole bottle of wine.
What we say:
Minnow take all-day eating quite seriously – not only do they have a food menu that spans the whole day, but a cocktail list too, with a series of breakfast cocktails taking centre stage. But if you’re part of the 0.1% of Londoners who don’t like booze with their brunch, there’s fresh juices and locally roasted coffee too. For food, there’s English dishes with an international twist, like a breakfast of chilli cornbread with fried egg and avocado, with paw paw and cayenne, as well as meals cooked on their Robata grill, like a whole roast poussin.
