What they say:
Treading the line between fast food and fine dining, Buns & Buns is finally bringing its internationally-inspired menu to a bricks and mortar location this spring. Due to open in March the bao and burgers restaurant will be taking over the site formerly held by Jamie Oliver's Union Jacks. With a delivery-only kitchen already in operation in Canary Wharf, the new Covent Garden eatery will be the brand's first sit-in location in the UK. With its eclectic offerings of burgers, baos, salads, cocktails and juices, Buns & Buns will be opening up their style of health-focused and affordable dishes to a wider public.
What we say:
Having existed in the UK so far as a delivery-only kitchen, Florida-based Buns & Buns have announced it will be launching an 140-cover sit-in restaurant in the Covent Garden Piazza this March. The eatery, which serves a mixed menu of bao buns, burgers, salads and sandwiches, is being backed by Samba Brands, who also operate Sushisambe and Duck & Waffle. Based in the thriving, tourist-heavy heart of Central London, Buns & Buns have also stated that they will be adapting their current menu options to suit this new location, but will continue to serve nutritious food at an affordable price.
