Encant, meaning ‘charm’ or ‘spell’ in Catalan, is both the name and ethos of this exciting restaurant, situated at 16 Maiden Lane, London WC2E 7NJ.
Explains chef-patron Victor Garvey, “Encant serves the kind of food I love to eat in the kind of restaurant I like to eat in. The dishes I’m cooking are rooted in my upbringing in Spain, but influenced by my travels and experience of working in restaurants around the world.”
In a sultry, copper-hued room, seconds away from the bustling Covent Garden Piazza and theatreland, diners can watch Victor and his team at work in the open kitchen. Every dish is made to order using the highest quality ingredients; the style of service meanwhile is friendly, informal and welcoming.
The menu is complemented by an all-Spanish wine list, available by the glass and bottle, as well as a cocktail list featuring many variations of Spain’s beloved gin & tonic.
