Authentic Bengali sharing dishes and signature East Indian-inspired cocktails, in the West End.
Following a series of sell-out supperclubs, Prabir Chattopadhyay and Biswajit Deb Das launched their first restaurant in 2018. Little Kolkata is located in the heart of Covent Garden and boasts a menu of the same authentic Bengali cuisine stemming from Prabir’s upbringing in Calcutta and Biswajit’s ancestral roots in Bangladesh. With an extensive Calcuttan menu and a unique cocktail list, the restaurant pays homage to the East Indian region. The interiors are modern, yet relaxed and the communal atmosphere honours both the new and old culture.
Expect authentic Bengali dishes, with sharing plates made with traditional spices and ingredients. We recommend the Lilish Maacher Deemer; a spiced fish egg from the Hilsa, along with speciality dishes, including chicken liver sautéed with spice and chillies. For dessert, think sweet treats, yoghurt dishes and brownies with a twist - as the comfort food gets the East Indian treatment. Inspired by Flury's, the famous Swiss patisserie in Calcutta, comes the cardamom coffee brownie with rose ice-cream. All to be soaked up with signature cocktails, from the Saffron Spritz to the Indian Summer Garden.
