Covent Garden's latest restaurant opening sees Chef Victor Garvey dip back into his Barcelonan roots. With the help of his father, the famous chef offers a laid-back spot where Londoners can enjoy fine wine and cheese in comfortable surroundings. Alongside cheeses like Picos de Valdeon Azul, Tetilla and La Serena, the menu at Sibarita boasts small plates of crispy calamari and seasoned chicken stew, and an impressive Iberian ham collection sourced from the finest Basque butchers.
What we say:
Even though London's bursting with Spanish restaurants, we're always thrilled to hear about a new tapas joint. This time, with Victor Garvey at the wheel, we can hardly contain our excitement. The cheese, charcuterie and wine offering at Sibarita is, of course, great. And with Garvey's dad involved in the project, everything is as authentic as possible. Only time will tell as to whether the restaurant offers enough to make it stand out in Covent Garden's competitive restaurant scene.
