What they say:
The talented chef behind The Frog restaurant has announced that he's opening a second site, this time in London's bustling Covent Garden. Focusing on British dishes and experimenting with different flavour combinations, Frog by Adam Handling will offer a seasonal menu that changes every week. The venue itself will cater for 90 diners at one time and will be spread across two different floors. With plans to place an open kitchen in the heart of the restaurant, expect this spot to be a more formal version of the original, Shoreditch-based The Frog restaurant.
What we say:
Details are pretty thin on the ground at present but we've enjoyed chef Handling's food before and are excited by the idea of a formal, permanent restaurant where he calls the shots. He'll definitely have his work cut out for himself, given that the new spot will be based in uber-competitive Covent Garden. But the key factor as to whether The Frog sinks or swims will be if Handling can create the right atmosphere to matches his inventive dishes. Either way, we're excited.
