Chianti Classico 100th Anniversary
2024 is a historic milestone for the Black Rooster with the Chianti Classico Consortium celebrating its 100th anniversary. Over the years, the consortium has always searched to improve the quality of Chianti wines by regulating the DOC rules. This continues to this day as they recently implemented a new UGA Additional Geographical Units status which aims to reflect the homogeneity and identity of specific areas within the Chianti Classico appellation.
With terroir-driven wines in high demand, winemakers in Chianti are now producing wines with a strong sense of origin. To reflect their typicity, they vinify their wines plot by plot and release them in very small quantities of single vineyards cuvee for the joy of collectors, sommeliers and wine connoisseurs across the world.
This evening will be a fantastic occasion to taste 6 of the 11 UGA across some iconic estates: Castello di Fonterutoli Mazzei, Riscasoli, Antinori and Fontodi. Each wine will be carefully paired with a delightful menu crafted by our executive chefs.
