Barolo, the king of Piedmont, is a powerful and rustic red with an intense and complex flavour profile. Alongside Barbaresco, it is the most famous appellation of Piedmont. A 100% Nebbiolo, it produces powerful, complex, long-lived wines and is well-established as a staple of any serious cellar.
Barolo wines have earthy flavours, which pair beautifully with tasty food, the best being white truffles. Also known as Alba truffles, this type of funghi originates from the same region.
This lunch will be the perfect opportunity to kick off the truffle season. Indulge yourself in the wonderful Piemontese culture with Tariq, the Private Client Manager from Petersham Cellar and ex-sommelier at The Fat Duck, who will take you through the exquisite wines from top winery Parusso. Each will be paired with a menu crafted by our executive chefs at The Petersham, to honour Il Tartufo d’Alba.
