Amid feta lawsuits and mass hummus recalls, it's been a worrying time for Greek food lovers. Luckily though, things are looking up, with the unveiling of a shiny new Mediterranean inspired restaurant slap bang in the middle of Fitzrovia.

Headed up by former Nopi chef Oren Goldfeld, Ampἑli will serve a wide array of authentic dishes such as lamb sweetbreads with Jerusalem mixed spice, braised cuttlefish with orzo and brown shrimp garnished with harissa mayonnaise.

Taking cues from the wine-focussed restaurants of Athens, Yiannis Karakasis will be carefully curating a wine list full of lesser-known Grecian sips, some of which have never been served in London before.

And in terms of interiors? Expect earthy green furnishings, golden lighting and a dark and sultry bar, fully-stocked with exotic sips.

A slice of sunshine in the heart of London? That's a pita good news to us.
