Having worked under two-Michelin starred Michel Roux Jr., Monica Galetti now steps into the dark, setting up her first solo restaurant in Fitzrovia, called Mere. Named after the French word for 'mother' and the Samoan word for Mary, her own mother's name, tradition is central to operations here. Galetti's food will always be seasonal and ingredient-led, with a number of classic dishes having her own personal tweaks added to them.

Holding up to 70 diners at a time, Mere certainly has its work cut out if it's to compete with the other fine-dining restaurant in Fitrovia. After all, this central location certainly isn't short of gourmet restaurants serving delicious, traditional dishes. However, lifting Mere head and shoulders above the rest is the experience of Monica Galetti. With 12 years of work for such an acclaimed chef under her belt, we're confident Mere going to become one of Fitzrovia's culinary highlights.
