Inspired by the food and spirit of Sicily, Norma will celebrate the region's grand cafe culture and place a particular emphasis on Moorish influences. The independent restaurant is the brainchild of acclaimed chef and Culinary Director of The Stafford Ben Tish, and will be financially backed by The Stafford Group.
Norma is housed within a converted Fitzrovian townhouse, split across three floors. The bottom two will be dedicated to the restaurant, with a cocktail bar on the first floor and a crudo bar serving seasonal seafood near the entrance on the ground floor. Meanwhile, the top will be a private dining space for larger parties.
With regard to the food, it looks like Norma will be blending traditional dishes with a contemporary twist. Using seasonal Italian and British produce, a selection of antipasti, pasta, larger grilled meat and fish dishes will be available. In addition to this, the private dining room will offer family-style feasting for its guests, with large vegetable platters and large, whole fish dishes to share.
