Cornerstone is a produce-driven small plates restaurant in Hackney Wick.
The first restaurant of Tom Brown, protégé to Nathan Outlaw, Cornerstone is a 46-cover restaurant, boasting a simple and clean contemporary aesthetic. Seating lines the walls, with a jet-black central kitchen that doubles as a counter-bar. The restaurant’s menu is produce-driven, meaning that dishes changes regularly depending on which British ingredients are available.
Expect to find sharing plates on the menu, with the likes of raw mackerel with lime pickle, coconut yoghurt and crispy garlic, as well as marinated squid accompanied by black pudding, blood orange and a brown butter dressing. The wine list is compact and international, with a list of natural, organic and biodynamic wines. Meanwhile, they’ve partnered with distillery The Wrecking Coast to deliver a bespoke Cornerstone gin, creating a range of botanical cocktails and a signature G&T.
