Description
London's first vegan Chinese spot has landed on Mare Street.
Ditching the usual pork-based signatures and meat-heavy staples for an entirely plant-based menu, Mao Chow is all about vegan dining. Fresh from a succesful residency at Dalston's Pamela, Mao Chow has gone permanent with this small space offering 12 seats. It's walk-ins only, with a cash-free policy.
The concise menu includes dishes from poached jackfruit paired with a tangy ginger-scallion sauce to fennel dumplings and Langya potatoes with Silk Road spices. Drinks are just as intriguing, with Taiwanese apple cider and malted soy milk on the list. If you fancy something a little alcoholic, then you can bring your own bottles.
