What they say:
Tucked away down an unassuming neighbourhood street in Islington, Almeida is back and looking better than ever. Showcasing a new-look décor characterised by earthy, raw materials and paintings from local artist Vanda Harvey, this is going to be a calming hangout ideal for friends and family. Michelin-trained Tommy Boland will be busy whipping up something tasty in the kitchen and the venue’s cocktail bar will be worth the visit on its own merit.
What we say:
It’s the delicate balance between creating a serene atmosphere and a quality dining destination that catches our eye at Almeida. They’re promising a friendly and welcoming approach which will see a well-informed team recommend bottles of wine so as to match each guest’s dinner. The menu comes filled with quirky choices like Octopus and roasted Grouse, and with five-courses available for £45 from the tasting menu, there’s good value for money to be had too.
