Black Axe Mangal

Description

Black Axe Mangal is Islington's Middle-Eastern barbecue joint, offering guests a range of succulent meats and freshly baked speciality breads. Created by Chef Lee Tiernan, the idea for this restaurant was born out of his burning passion for all things kebab related.

The eatery is located in Islington, less than a minute away from Highbury and Islington railway station. Humbly seating just over twenty patrons, this intimate restaurant is incredibly welcoming and has something uniquely endearing about it.

Focussing on Middle-Eastern barbecue dishes, Chef Tiernan has taken the time to produce a menu that includes an intriguing range of different meats. No part of the animal will go to waste, evident from the restaurant's Lamb Offal Flatbread dish. Also included is the flavoursome Anchovies-crusted Pork Jowl and the beautifully smoked Tête de Veau. Alongside an exquisite menu, the delicious cocktails are served up by International Bartender of the Year, Mr Lyan, the genius behind the much revered White Lyan bar in Shoreditch.
