Description
The team behind Primeur have opened a second venue in Lower Holloway. Westerns Laundry is housed in a 1950s building, hidden behind an entry-code gate.
The menu is largely British-inspired with influences from southern Europe and Asia, while ingredients are sourced from across the country to ensure the best quality. Owners Jeremie Cometto-Lingenheim and David Gingell work with day boats from Cornwall and Devon to source fresh seafood such as mackerel, sea bass and scallops while meat dishes are provided by a small collective of farms in North Yorkshire.
The interior looks to preserve the history of the building as well as adding furniture and pieces from local British artists, from communal tables through to paintings by Kate Boxer. A wine-cellar with more than 200 types of bottles from small-scale international producers are exposed and sit within the restaurant. The kitchen is open and there is a private dining room that seats 14.
