Soul Store West is a new restaurant, cocktail bar and hotel that's opened in the heart of North London. Setting up shop on Kilburn High Road, the highlight of the venue is the menu of American comfort food treats that's been created by the Chicago Rib Shack team. Specialising in the same flavours that made their other venues such a hit, the chefs here serve both traditional dishes and a few plates with a bit more quirk - think baby back ribs, spicy fried catfish and a fire thigh burger. Better still, the cocktail bar churns out inventive cocktails, all created by Mario Sandberg and all infused with only the freshest ingredients.

Soul Store West fits perfectly into the trend of gentrification that's taken hold of Kilburn for the last 5 years. The area's seen a number of new American-themed restaurants and vibrant cocktails bars open in recent years, all delivering the same proven combination of ace burgers and smooth cocktails. We know already that the food's going to be great, given the prestige of the Chicago Rib Shack. But what really excites us is the non-stop soul music that frames everything. Adding an infectious, electric feel to the venue's Crisco-heavy air, it's this soul music focus that's going to help the new restaurant stand out. We can't wait to try this spot out for ourselves.
