From the forces that brought us Aldgate's most stylish coffee house, Lundenwic, comes a coffee shops and workspace that#s getting the Liverpool Street masses a bit hot under the collar. Crispin is the second bricks-and-mortar venture from Oliver Hiam and Dominic Hamdy, the duo who also gave us the best scotch eggs in town in the form of Scotchtails. Housed inside a unique, purpose-built structure just five minutes walk from Liverpool Street Station, the cafe opens every day from 7.30am to soothe City commuters and early-risers with delicious coffee and a slap-up bacon sarnie.
Lunchtimes too prove a treat for locals and workers as Crispin offers a range of very enticing toasties - cheddar, hispi cabbage and chilli jam anyone? Maybe a n’duja sausage with gooey Ogleshield and jalapeno? Dinners is a more laid back affair, with drinks and bar snacks being the order of the day as Crispin doles out glasses of natural and low-intervention wines as well as classic cocktails and craft beers. There is also a nightly dinner plate though, made with seasonal produce, and available alongside a glass of wine for just £10.
