Description
Following the huge success of their first venue, Hoppers have opened a second restaurant in central London. The new spot is in Marylebone in St Christopher's Place and features two floors with space for 85 covers along with an outdoor terrace.
Inspired by the roadside shacks of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu, the menu is a hearty mix of rice, curries and their namesake 'hoppers' - a bowl shaped breakfast dish made from fermented rice and coconut batter and filled with curry. The second site also serves new dishes such as Jaffna Beef Rib Fry and Tuna and Tapioca Cutlets with Avocado Sambol.
Taking inspiration from famed Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa, the restaurant is light and airy, while trying to break down the barrier between outside and in. The cocktail menu is full of floral and fauna flavours, and use Genever spirits along with Sri Lankan Arrack.
