Cube

Cubé is a Japanese restaurant with a hidden bar, Kakurega, in Mayfair.

Designed by the people behind famous Chinatown venue Bubblewrap, both the bar and restaurant is made of smooth wooden panelling and wooden furnishings, with the bar area using a darker tone to give it a moodier appeal. The venue is quite small, with space only for 18 diners at the tables, six at the omakase counter and 12 in the bar.

The menu consists of traditional Japanese dishes rarely found in the west, with plates like Shigureni, a braised beef dish, Histumabushi, a dish famous in the city of Nagoya, as well as Udon with black olive and truffle pesto. The downstairs bar has a concise menu, featuring just seven cocktails, as well as a few rare examples of Japanese sake, whisky and fine wines.
