What they say:
Martha Ortiz is a pretty big deal in the culinary world; the Mexican chef's Dulce Patria is in the top 50 of best restaurants in the world and she regular makes TV appearances in her native country. Now, she's brought her renowned flavour to an equally renowned spot, Intercontinental London Park Lane. Ella Canta is both a restaurant and bar that emphasises the natural and unknown flavours of Mexico; dishes include the likes of vampire ceviche with mango and sangrita sorbet, crispy pork with chiltomate sauce and red onion, and a tasting menu with seven types of mole.
What we say:
There's been a renewed love affair with Mexican food in London recently, and that shows no sign of slowing down as Ella Canta opens in Mayfair. The restaurant is the brainchild of Martha Ortiz, and as the daughter of Martha Chapa, you can expect big, bold and beautiful colours at the new opening. As well as a dedicated restaurant, Ella Canta also has a stand-alone bar which serves cocktails, mezcal and tequila, as well as having its own small-plates menu.
