Gridiron

If you're a fan of Hawksmoor (who isn't?) then you're going to love this, because the steak restaurant's executive chef Richard H. Turner has brought his meat mastery over to Old Park Lane in a collaboration with COMO Metropolitan London. Taking over the hotel's previously closed Met Bar, Gridiron is home to a live-fire grill restaurant, serving up ethically sourced ingredients and seasonal cooking.

In its heyday, Met Bar was infamous for the star-studded guests that walked through its doors; from The Spice Girls to Liam Gallagher and Cher. It is a different kind of A-lister through the door now though, with big names from the worlds of food and drinks on board. Not only is Turner executive consultant chef, but Colin McSherry (The Ledbury, Nuala, The Fat Duck etc.) is also be cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Expect wood-roast scallops, braised highland beef, whole roast turbot and more.

When it comes to drinks, Gridiron means serious business. Cocktails have been created by brothers Max and Noel Venning of Three Sheets, bringing creative concoctions like miso-infused White Russians and an Old Fashioned with pandan to the table. Meanwhile, wine writer Fiona Beckett has curated a list of classic European and New World wines, for mopping up all that smokey meat.
