What they say:
Chef Manish Mehrotra is bringing his famous Indian Accent restaurant chain to London this autumn. Taking over from Chor Bizarre on Albemarle Street in Mayfair, the new restaurant will stick to Mehrotra's proven formula of showcasing traditional Indian flavour balances and culinary themes within a menu of experimental, contemporary dishes. Unfazed by London's competitive restaurant culture, Indian Accent will be aiming for the top and will hope to repeat the success of its sister venues in New Dehli and New York.
What we say:
Wow, we're excited. It's not every day that one of the world's best chefs opens up a new restaurant in London. And make no mistake, Mehrotra is at the top of his game. Described as the Meryl Streep of cooking awards, his flagship Indian Accent restaurant in New Dehli features in the World's 50 Best Restaurant list, sitting comfortably at number 30. It won't be easy and the competition will be fierce - particularly in a high-flying area like Mayfair - but if there ever was a man for such a challenge, it's chef Mehrotra.
