The wonderful people behind Wahaca do what they do best and bring Mexican food to the masses. Imagine a Mexicana mama and papa moved to New York and thought, hey modernity ain’t half bad, I think I’ll incorporate that into my delish traditional Mexican comfort food. That's DF Tacos.
The interior is trendy, stark warehouse with touches of vibrant Mexico City (known to insiders as DF, short for District Federal...hence the name). Seating is either one long communal table to encourage feasting or intimately spaced little ones. Buttercup yellow lampshades hang from loop-de-looping wires and silver industrial piping caterpillars around. Stylish, slick but oh-so-cheerful. Potter over to the self-service screens and get click happy with the burritos. Or order with a human. Yes, humans still do exist.
Choose from a variety of those wondrous Mexican institutions; tacos, burritos or hearty Mexican bowls full of flavour. All served alongside some all time favourites, like chilli or cheesy fries; or try something different like a cup of corn.
