Description
Jago is a bar and restaurant with an Ashkenazi edge located just around the corner from Brick Lane. A joint venture from Louis Solley (former Head Chef of Ottolenghi), Hugo Thurston (ex-GM at Morito) and successful entrepreneur Vinny Burke, it's your place for southern Europe and Middle-Eastern influenced eats whether you're stopping by for brekky, a coffee break, lunch or dinner.
You'll find Jago in Second Home in Shoreditch’s Hanbury Street. There's plenty of lighter salads and grilled dishes to look forward to, with a sample menu filled out with favourites like pickled herring, braised lentils and veal cheek goulash (£7-£14). Guests can stop in and make an occasion of it, or take away if they are pressed for time.
What's in the drinks cabinet, though? Wines are predominantly plucked from Spain, France and Italy, and start from a very reasonable £4 a glass. A neat cocktail card comes as standard too, with all the old classics here for £7 a piece.
