Taking its name from two old furniture businesses that used to stand on its spot on Curtain Road, Penkul & Banks is a taste of European cuisine with an East Asian twist. Open all day and serving brunch through to dinner, this a cafe, bar and restaurant focused on unique flavours. Not limited to the food, they have spread these unique flavours into their cocktails, coming up with such unusual mixtures as the Dragonfruit Collins and the Rosemary Gimlet.

Penkul & Banks is a cool, quaint little place that fits perfectly into the Shoreditch scene. In a style that is becoming the fashion with trendy food joints in London these days, the dishes are predominantly smaller portions and food comes out as and when it is cooked; rather than waiting for everyone at your table to be served too. The cocktails at Penkul & Banks also aren't your usual choices, hardly surprising when you discover that they are the work of the mixologists behind other Shoreditch, cocktail favourite, Callooh Callay. If cocktails aren't your thing then they also have a few unusual bottled ales and beers to tickle your fancy too!
