Description
Bubala is a Middle Eastern restaurant focusing on vibrant vegetarian dishes in the heart of Soho, with an outpost in Spitalfields too after starting out as a pop-up. Its name directly translates as 'darling' in Yiddish, which makes sense as all of its dishes are certainly worth cooing over.
At the Poland Street eatery, expect to be met with earthy interiors in the form of forest greens, pretty speckled flooring and textured walls paired with potted plants aplenty. This sings to the bold and complex elements of its vegetable-based dishes and makes for a picturesque dining experience.
Sourcing its ingredients from UK-based suppliers, its dishes include the likes of oyster mushroom skewers with tamari and coriander seed, falafel and tahini, and the crowd-pleasing favourite halloumi drizzled in chamomile and fennel honey. For a bit of everything, opt for either a mezze sharing menu (£32.50 per person), or Bubala Knows Best (£45), then pair your meal with cocktails like the vodka-based Double Lemon Drop or Bubie's Spicy Margarita.
