A new restaurant and bakery for Soho, Singapulah is the latest venture from entrepreneur and Rasa Sayang founder Ellen Chew. Bringing an uncompromising menu of authentic Singaporean eats, Chew and head chef Lynette Zheng have developed a menu of dishes currently not found anywhere else in the UK. Think traditional hawker plates such as bak chor mee (minced pork noodles) and chwee kueh (fluffy steamed rice cakes).
On top of that, the restaurant has partnered with Singapore-based chef-patron Willin Low to bring the Roxy Laksa to the UK for the first time.
But Singapulah will only exist after dark, as during the day the 50-cover restaurant becomes Chew's bakery concept, Arôme. Headed up by former Dorchester pastry bod, Alix Andre, the diminutive 12-cover cafe space will be bringing a range of loaves and pastries, as well as a signature dish of milk bread toast.
