Description
Coming from Southwark's Old Union arches is Bala Baya, bringing the finest food from Tel Aviv.
Bala Baya is split between a more relaxed daytime menu of pittas, with the option to take away, and a more formal dining experience in the evening. The pittas are filled with a number of stuffings, including stews and slow-cooked meats, such as braised lamb with quince, pecorino and salad. Each pitta can be spiced up with a number of homemade sauces and salads.
At night, Bala Baya shows off its heritage, with dishes such as tea-smoked aubergine with harissa and date glaze with a spicy nut crumb, or salt-baked blackened salmon with tahini. Their cocktail menu is crafted by an award-winning bartender and uses inventive ingredients for some amazing concoctions, like a tomato and cucumber negroni with a feta garnish. For soft drinks, the bar will become London's first-ever Gazoz bar; a traditional sparkling drink infused with flavours such as plum with fig and lemon thyme.

Our stunning Mezzanine floor is a stylish open space that can accommodate small, intimate gatherings and large scale parties alike; perfectly made for private dining in London. With the capacity to hold 60 seated diners and 100 standing guests, the Mezzanine is an ideal place to hold your private soirée, celebration or corporate event. For an unforgettable experience in a beautiful private dining room in London, Bala Baya is always an outstanding choice. For drinks we have a terrific selection of wines and beers as well as sparkling cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. For a real taste of Tel-Aviv, why not try our gazoz, a refreshing beverage made with our own small batch syrups, fresh, seasonal fruit, herbs, spices and flowers. Our gazoz is a treat for the eyes as well as the taste buds. This amazing drink is naturally non-alcoholic, but of course we also do a ‘naughty’ version by including Prosecco, vodka, gin, or Arak. Give it a try – you’ll be glad you did. |
