After gracing us with Westerns Laundry and Primeur, founders Jeremie Cometto-Lingenheim and David Gingell have turned their attention to Hackney for North London's best-loved bakery. Jolene's got the goods... and they're fresh out the oven. Head to this cosy spot to find a bakery counter dishing out madeleines, croissants, sausage rolls and more, before offering up fresh pasta, salads and stews. Come the evening, lights are dimmed and the menu shifts towards small plates like grilled cod and steak. When it comes to drinks, you can soak up cocktails, house-made fermented drinks or go for wines and fizz chosen by Jeremie and his team of sommeliers.
With a stripped back intrerior, you can relax at a sharing table or pull up a seat at the counter which offers views of the kitchen, bakery and onsite mill which has been designed for maximum health benefits. There's a focus on freshly made produce and sustainably sourced ingredients; grains come from farms in Sussex and Norfolk, while fish is sourced ethically from a farming collective in North Yorkshire so you can feel good as you fill up.
