- Restaurant
Having wowed diners at their pop-up above Chinese restaurant Shuang Shuang, Yamagoya has found a permanent home in Waterloo.
Founded in 1969 by a Japanese lorry driver, Yamagoya specialises in ramen, including their namesake dish which consists of handmade noodles in tonkotsu broth, pork belly, bamboo shoots, mushrooms and an egg. The venue also serves the signature rainbow cake; a water-droplet-like dish that is made from agar powder only found in Japan.
Take a seat at the communal dining table and choose from a variety of dishes. Alongside ramen and rainbow cake, the menu also includes ice cream in flavours from matcha mochi to green tea. Seaweed and tofu can be ordered as snacks and there's also a dedicated take away counter serving special lunches like chicken katsu.
