What they say:
Joining the likes of Aquavit and Duck & Waffle Local at St James's Square comes a new take on African cuisine. Ikoyi has been a successful pop-up and has now found a permanent home after a series of residencies. From chef Jeremy Chan - who has previously worked at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal - and director Ire Hassan-Odukale, the restaurant focuses on Jollof cuisine from Western Africa using seasonal and local products along with advanced cooking techniques.
What we say:
With influences from Ghana, Senegal and Nigeria, Ikoyi is bringing new flavours to central London. Focusing on Jollof cuisine, the restaurant hopes to increase awareness of the culinary area, as well as put their own touch on proceedings. Dishes at previous residencies such as Carousel and Le Bab have included the likes of grilled mackerel with tigernut milk and grains of selim as well as smoked banana leaf meringue with caramelised coconut.
