Continuing the success of our virtual kitchen masterclasses, we are bringing you a taste of Malaysia and teaching you how to make Laksa Lemak (vegetarian, prawn or chicken versions), their popular and comforting national dish. Chef Nikika whose family is from Malaysia will be teaching her secret recipe to you on Wednesday 30th September so you can recreate this incredibly tasty dish at home.
Laksa is a dish popular in South East Asia with different regions having variations making it their own. It's origins are argued over, though it is agreed that it is a Peranakan or Nyonya dish that was introduced when Chinese immigrants in the 1500s moved to Malacca and intermarried with locals and Javanese, creating a mixed race, a new cuisine and a culture still around today. Laksa is normally served with noodles, either thick rice noodles (similar to udon) or thin vermicelli like noodles. In our masterclass we will be teaching you how to make handmade noodles from scratch! An amazing kitchen skill to reuse with a plethora of Asian dishes.
Don't miss this amazing opportunity to pick up some new skills in the kitchen and be part of our virtual kitchen from the comfort of your home.
We will send you an ingredients list 2 weeks before the class. Please note you will need a food processor/ nutribullet to take part.
