Stand up comedy at the London authentic, award-winning, modern Mediterranean restaurant. It is just a short walk from Hammersmith tube station and the Apollo, a popular destination of celebrities, frequently visited by stars, such as: Alan Sugar, Adrian Charles, Bill Baily and Olly Murs.
Comedy night starts at 7:30pm and finishes at the latest 9:30pm, this is another one of our shows for the Edinburgh previews season and features some of the finest comedy talent. This show will focus on the talents of Darius Davies.
Back in 2007, Brit Darius Davies began his comedy career gracing the stages of the open mic nights in New York. Pretty swiftly, his unique brand of high octane comedy got him noticed and he won an MTV New Talent contest; opening the door for Darius to strut his stuff on MTV America.
Darius was almost certain that this taste of stardom would lead to unrivalled fame back home in the UK, so he hopped overseas and in the blink of an eye (four years later) he found himself gigging regularly up and down the beautiful British Isles. With a particular style akin to a performance poet or faith healer, Darius commands his audience with wonderful charisma – an American performance style infused with British soul and wit.
A distinct voice in a sea of ubiquity – Darius is absolutely fearless in his belief in what is funny and forging his own path. This is high energy, captivating stand up comedy fuelled with passion and vivacity.
He also has the best routine about electrical plugs you will ever hear, guaranteed.
In 2015, Darius performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as part of the prestigious Big Value Comedy Show at Just the Tonic. Whilst he was there (and all year round) he also co-hosts cult hit ‘Hate ‘n’ Live’ – a rant-battle between circuit comedians which has proved hugely popular with university, Fringe and festival audiences and reviewers. The Scotsman said it’s ‘A great idea for a show, brutally funny… absolutely brilliant!’
This year, Hate ‘n’ Live returns to the Fringe in a bigger venue and Darius will perform his debut solo show ‘Road to WrestleMania’. This show is the true story of how Darius’s dreams of being a professional wrestler were crushed at the age of 18 due to a life-changing injury. It involves actual x-rays and hugely embarrassing home videos. Here is a clip of him in action:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZu_RcjrIOI.
