Hear from Noor Murad, aka @noorishbynoor, as she discusses her new cookbook Lugma with presenter and host of the Crazy Sexy Food podcast Hannah Harley Young, before enjoying dishes from her book at Charlotte Street Hotel's Oscar Restaurant.
The event will start off in our screening room as you join Noor and Hannah to discuss her love of food and inspiration behind her latest cookbook. Then, head upstairs to Oscar restaurant for a sharing-style lunch of dishes from the book where Noor will be on hand to chat and sign books.
Lugma in Arabic means 'a bite'. For Noor her career has been
centred around taking bites of food and analysing them to create
the perfect dish. Raised in Bahrain and now based in London, Noor
takes you on a culinary journey to celebrate her own food culture.
Her recipes are inspired by the foods of her upbringing: the
elaborate rice dishes and black limes of the Gulf, an abundance of
herbs and sour flavours from Iran, liberal spice and chilli heat
from India and the vibrant foods of the Levant – to create a unique
collection of traditional and re-imagined dishes from the Middle
East.

- Burnt Aubergines with Fenugreek Sauce, Tahini and Fried Shallots
- Coffee, Cardamom and Chipotle-rubbed Lamb Chops
- Yoghurty Butter Beans with Middle Eastern Chilli Crisp
- Really Soft Date Loaf with Cardamom, Fennel and Nigella Seeds

ABOUT NOOR MURAD
Bahrain-born, London-based and New York trained, Noor Murad joined the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen in 2018, where she worked as a recipe developer for Falastin and Flavour as well as Ottolenghi’s Guardian and New York Times columns. She became the head of the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen and wrote the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen books: Shelf Love and Extra Good Things. Her own recipes have featured in the Guardian and New York Times and she has cooked on BBC's Saturday Kitchen. Her Middle Eastern roots have a strong influence on her cooking, with Arabic, Indian and Persian flavours making a prominent appearance in her recipes.

3. Please check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
