The Gypsy Dynamite Quintet deliver a true explosion of sounds and vibrant melodies from the pure jazz of the early days' to popular songs arranged in a fun and energetic style. With unique and fresh arrangements of traditional Gypsy swing as well as flavours from Italian and Spanish music - expect groove, hot guitar skills and some of your favourite songs in many different languages.
Gypsy Dynamite was originally formed as a duo by Giulio Romano Malaisi and Filippo Dall'Asta in London in 2012, which then expanded after teaming up with bass player Jonny Gee and drummer Daniele Antenucci.
Tonight, the band will feature special guest violinist Piotr Jordan. Piotr Jordan was born and brought up in Lodz, Poland and started playing the violin at age 6. He studied under the Irena Dubiska at the Warsaw Conservatoire, from where he graduated in 1986 at the age of 17. Whilst violin is still his primary instrument, he now also plays the viola. Upon graduating he worked in the Lodz National Opera and travelled and worked extensively in Eastern Europe. In 1994 he moved to the UK has since played in numerous professional ensembles, including the Bampton Classical Opera (principle) and the London Schubert Players (principle, and principle second). He is a founding member of the chamber duo, Gaia Duo and leads the Phillidor Quartet.
