Yorke Dance Project Screening Sea of Troubles
-
1 review - The Soho Hotel
Description
Yorke Dance Project, in association with The Royal Ballet, present a thrilling new film of Kenneth MacMillan’s Sea of Troubles, directed by David Stewart. Previously performed to much acclaim at the Royal Opera House and in other national theatres, this visceral and emotional ballet is based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet. MacMillan retells this classic tale of despair, revenge and madness from Hamlet’s perspective. Choreographed in 1988, its relevance remains undiminished and it still resonates deeply today. Now immortalised on film, Sea of Troubles was filmed on location at the historic Hatfield House and features dancers of Yorke Dance Project and the Royal Ballet.
The evening will be hosted by Radio 3 presenter Sarah Walker and will include a post screening discussion with Deborah MacMillan, David Stewart and Yolande Yorke-Edgell
