Big Hands is only a brisk two-minute walk away from the Manchester Academy, convenient if you spend a little too long at the bar! Despite the lack of elbow room, it makes it up for it with an eclectic atmosphere and quirky interior of pump clips, movie posters, leather sofas and one of the best jukeboxes in Manchester. With its cheap beer and its late opening times of 2am each night, Big Hands is a great choice to go to either before or after a show.
Situated just opposite the Manchester Academy is KRO bar, part of a family of venues that have sprung up throughout Manchester. Despite its unassuming exterior, the cool interior is decked out with wood panelling, cosy booths and chic furniture to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. With the food menu running until 9pm, KRO bar is a great choice if you need somewhere to eat before taking your place inside the Manchester Academy.
