Description
FOLK has a reputation as one of the friendliest places in West Didsbury - and it's certainly unique! Step through the palm trees on Burton Road and you’ll find a world away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. The floor has been rescued from an old gym, the deli and restaurant prepare everything on site daily, and the music is a mix of jazz, reggae and retro tunes played by DJ Chris - and any other musicians who happen to be in the area (international DJs have been known to make an appearance…) The interior is all South Manchester shabby chic, with a mixture of casual seating and private booths - plus extra tables and umbrellas outside.
It’s child-friendly, especially at weekend lunchtimes, and beloved by families, couples, and groups of friends alike. You can chill with a beer on the front terrace area, or cosy up with a bottle of wine in one of the banquette booths for something more intimate - but wherever you find yourself, the chilled atmosphere is all encompassing, and you’ll be welcomed wholeheartedly as one of the Folk folk.
