What they say:
Hoping to expand on their growing collection of Manchester-based bars - 'Dockyard', 'Liquorice' and 'Guilty By Association' - Steve Pilling and Mark Whyte have filed an application to open up a another venue in the Northern Quarter. If all goes to plan, 'Tokyo Joes' is to be the name - a suspected Japanese whiskey bar that will live in the basement space below 'Ply' on Leverson St.
What we say:
In the last couple of years, the night life in Stevenson's Square has come along leaps and bounds - and it looks like these rapid developments aren't losing any momentum. Whilst nothing is set in stone here, the potential for a Japanese whiskey bar excites us - adding an alternative, more exotic option from some Stevenson Square steaming. Tokyo Joes is undoubtedly another welcome addition to Manchester's Northern Quarter.
