Situated in Hardman Square, surrounded by Spinningfields' best bars, restaurants and offices, Hawkers is set to be an independent food hall and bar that combines the the style of a fashionable London eatery with the electric buzz of a busy street food market to create what owners claim to be "a never been seen before dining experience". Downstairs will be given over to 14 different independent food operators, while on the first floor there'll be a large terrace bar overlooking Hardman Square, with heated al fresco drinking areas and hireable booths for Spinningfields' big screen events. Owners are keeping the full details of the bar under wraps for now, though they do tell us that the operator has "a long standing and impressive reputation on the Manchester nightlife scene already, and we are pretty blumin' excited about getting him down to Spinningfields".
What we say:
We've been watching the work taking place in Hardman Square with interest for a while now, so we're pleased to discover what it's all in aid of. Hawkers will be a welcome addition to the existing Spinningfields bars and restaurants, adding a touch of indie spirit to the area by supporting local independent operators. The terrace bar looks set to be one of the best rooftop bars in Manchester - a brilliant spot to enjoy some after work drinks or watch events on the big screen. We can't wait to give it a whirl. Roll on November!
